Shelton Cochran Mixed-Media Artist Visual Storyteller
An emerging mixed-media artist, Shelton Cochran is a visual storyteller. He calls his style “modern folk art,” blending traditional folk art subject matter, materials and tools with modern technologies. The majority of Shelton’s work incorporates woodcarving elements.
An Army brat, Shelton taught himself to draw while hospitalized at the age of 12 at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York. After he was discharged from the hospital he started carving.
